Maui is home to many great restaurants offering a variety of cuisines in a variety of locations.
Here are some of our favourites sorted by region:
South Shore (Kihei/Wailea)
10 Wailea Gateway Place, Unit B-201 Kihei, Hawaii 96753
Peter Merriman’s Wailea offering. Great food, great atmosphere. Get a seat at the bar in the evening where you get a great view out the window and you get to enjoy the live band that sets up in the lounge most nights. Get a seat on the patio for lunch and enjoy the expansive view. Cocktails are fantastic! Gnocchi is killer….and it’s walking distance (straight up the hill) from the condo. (*This is our Cheers when we’re in Maui).

Live classical music often adds to the atmosphere at dinner time. Go early (5:30pm) and get a table up front to watch the sun set, or grab lunch at the bar.

This pizza restaurant is a 2 minute walk from the condo by the Old Blue club house. Airy, family-owned restaurant & bar serving pizza, drinks & Greek appetizers with open-air seating. Great spot for taking the kids.
Fleetwoods on Front
744 Front St Lahaina, HI 96761
Go to the upper deck which is outfitted with comfy couches and a horseshoe bar and catch the sunset ceremony that happens daily precisely at 6:30pm. There is a traditional Hawaiian conch ceremony followed by a great bagpiper (Mick is of Scottish heritage). Sometimes Mick joins his band on stage. $1 oysters for happy hour daily.
286 Kupuohi St, Lahaina, HI 1 808-667-5400Asian shared plates, noodle dishes & sake cocktails in an airy, light, wood-trimmed space. **AWESOME food and cocktails! Hard to find spot up at the top of an Industrial park above Lahaina, but worth the trip. Restaurant is usually packed so call ahead for reservations. Ask for a separate table from the long central communal table or sit at the bar. Have the Ahi Avo and the BBQ pork buns. *Highly recommended

Mama’s Fish House
799 Poho Place, Paia, HI 96779
Mama’s Fish House is actually a converted beach house in a coconut grove on a secluded white sand beach. Inside, hinged windows open to let in the trade winds and Polynesian artifacts and original oil paintings decorate tropical hardwood walls. The rooms are filled with spectacular flower arrangements and tapa print cloths cover the tables. Outdoor dining is equally exciting, and everyone enjoys watching the windsurfers performing offshore. Go during the day when it is light out to appreciate the views.

Contemporary sushi and new wave Asian inspired dishes served in a lively setting is what makes Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar a critic’s favorite. Sansei’s sushi chefs are known for their highly imaginative creations, like their signature Panko Crusted Ahi Roll, and the famous Kapalua Butterfly Roll, a colorful delight of salmon, crab, shiromi, and fresh vegetables.Reservations are a must here as it is perennially busy. The sushi is creative and supremely delicious.
Hali’imaile General Store

Chef-restaurateur Beverly Gannon’s first restaurant remains a culinary destination after more than two decades. The big, rambling former plantation store has two dining rooms: sit in the front to be seen and heard; head on back for some quiet and privacy. Classic dishes like crab boboli, Asian duck tostada, grilled lamb chops, and many more are complemented with daily and nightly specials. To get here, take the exit on the left halfway up Haleakala Highway.

Cute Japanese restaurant with a diverse small-plate list, sushi & specialty rolls, plus a range of drinks. A great spot to go if you want to get away from the touist areas or if you are on your way back from Hana or from Upcountry. From the owners of Paia flatbead.
